Elevated Poconos Elegance: Intimate Stroudsmoor Terraview Wedding
Braylynn Lakota & Jacob Groller
When planning a luxury mountain celebration, finding a space that balances high-end elegance with a welcoming, cozy atmosphere can be a challenge. However, Braylynn and Jake’s recent wedding at Stroudsmoor Terraview achieved exactly that. This stunning Stroudsburg, PA wedding venue served as the perfect backdrop for an elevated and intimate celebration. With its dramatic 16-foot windows, massive stone hearths, and panoramic mountain views, the space offered all the romance of a fairy-tale estate while keeping the focus exactly where it belonged: on the deep connection between the couple and their closest loved ones.
When I first started talking with Braylynn, she wanted to feel elegant, and to have her wedding have an "old money vibe" a sleek dress to fit her style, and a family-centered guest list, sitting intimately at 50-60 guests. I connected with the two of them over pizza on their date session in Elizabethtown, PA area. A date overlooking the Susquehanna. The joy, laughter, and customization of what they brought along told me that they knew each other, and it was that same love that would not only help them grow together in their marriage, but also, the same love that poured out into their love for their daughter.
Getting ready, Braylynn spent time with family and her bridesmaids, having a slow, relaxed morning, complete with a lettuce wrapped burger from Five Guys. Her florals, stunning, her dress, elegant, her veil, a beautiful cathedral length, and the vibe was simultaneously hype, but with all of the best energy. A personal friend took care of her hair and makeup as well.
The wedding came, and guests arrived to champagne and a violinist providing a romantic prelude. The staff at Terraview were attentive to the needs of the couple, and ensured they did not see each other before Braylynn walked the aisle to their traditional vows (because a first touch allowed them to say the private ones earlier in the day). The scene was set among waterfalls, and a black iron gazebo that felt like a french-gothic revival style garden.
As the reception and cocktail hour came, guests settled, socialized, and the traditional events were had. A wedding party-lined dance floor for the couple, a guest backed dance floor for parent dances, speeches that left everyone in tears, and cutting a cake that would tempt even the gluten free.
